Doing ~ Contemplation Thoughts

2020 Week 30 ContemplationThoughts So Far…

  • We certainly emphasize action and doing over being in our society
  • Doing is downstream from Being
  • Action is the external projection of a person’s inner world. Panicked thinking breeds panicked actions. Clear thinking breeds clear, effective action
  • When we think of doing we often think of physical action, but aren’t internal intentions a sort of doing as well? Thinking, planning, intending, and imagining are all verbs, after all
  • Don’t the internal actions hold more sway, have broader influence, than the external ones? The internal intention to be compassionate will effect every interaction you have
  • Internal verbs affect your being more greatly, directly than external ones
  • Why do we associate more power to certain verbs? Talking over listening, giving over receiving. I think it’s the active over passive verbs. But there is no mower in liking if no one is listening. And you cannot give if no one accepts what you are trying to give
  • I think our actions throughout the day are interconnected like a web. One act done with love can infuse other acts with love
  • That’s why it benefits us to start our day off on a good foot. It can snowball. And even if you hit a bump in your day you’ll handle it much better
  • Acts done from a negative mindset don’t lead to positive results
  • Be then do
  • What verbs would be common to physical and non-physical beings? Intend, focus, concentrate, create, be, love, hate, communicate
