The Hold With Love Meditation is my take on a simple meditation for holding another as your object of focus with love.
People sometimes confuse energy work and meditation. When we do a meditation, we are not making changes to someone’s energy field. Doing a meditation for someone is like thinking about that person but just in a more focused and intentional way.
Every time we think about someone, whether with love or with anger, we are focused on them with the energy we are currently feeling. And we are running that same energy through our own being, which is something to keep in mind.
By intentionally choosing to focus on someone or something with love, you amplify that energy within your own being and you amplify that energy around them. However, the frequencies and emotions that person has chosen to cultivate internally are the determining factor in how the meditation is received (read more in my post Focusing in Love Focusing in Anger).
I originally shared the Hold With Love Meditation in January 2019, and while the meditation itself has not changed my practice with it and the options I offer has.

Meditations for Individuals (Love Wonder Grace)
You can do the meditation for as long as you feel like, or you can set a timer (I do 17 minutes). Remember that as you focus on your subject, the energy of love is flowing through you as well and benefiting all levels of your being.

The Meditation
Hold With Love 1 by D.Y. Abeygoda
First, make yourself comfortable.
Allow your body to relax, and your breathing to take on its natural rhythm.
Second, fill your being with the feeling of love.
You can do this by focusing on opening yourself to love energy. Try to connect to that energy directly for a minute or so, but then, if that is too abstract for you right now, you can think about a being that you feel nothing but love for, like a baby or your pet turtle, to help you connect to the feeling.
Finally, bring to mind the person, animal, etc that you wish to hold with love.
While maintaining that feeling of love you connected to in step 2, bring to mind the person/the animal/Mother Earth/etc that you wish to send the energy of love to. Hold that being in your loving focus.
