Much of the evidence for Reiki is anecdotal, but there is a growing number of scientific studies. There are also books that explain the scientific basis for distance healing techniques such as distance Reiki.
Here are a few interesting articles and other resources that I’ve come across about complementary and alternative therapies like Reiki, aromatherapy, and acupressure. I’ll keep updating this blog post as I find more things.
I use the term meditation when I’m trying to let go of thought. For me that means that I’m trying to shift more to a state where I’m aware of my thoughts but I’m not getting pulled in by them or having them dominate my awareness like huge ocean waves overwhelming a rowboat. I use the word contemplation when I’m focusing on an idea or situation to deepen my understanding or get a new perspective of it.

Do this visualization with whichever two chakras you choose (referred to as chakra number 1, chakra number 2). Â I suggest choosing two adjacent chakras to start.
Sit quietly and breath deeply for a few moments. Now turn your inner eye to chakra number one. Focus on this chakra and see it rotating and radiating its unique frequency of light from deep within your body.
Next, turn your attention to chakra number 2. Appreciate this chakra as it spins and glows.

Now visualize a deep blue stream of light descending from the sky, entering your body through the crown of your head. This light flows down the centre of your body, through your head and then down along your spine to your pelvis.
