While I was typing my previous post, How Our Guides Reach Us – Aspects and Portals, about an hour and a half ago, the question of pronouns and gender came up in my mind. I had thought about it before, but now that I was actually writing about them, it was more pressing.
When I wrote about my archangel guide, I wrote ‘they’. Since I started communicate with them they have felt completely genderless to me. I don’t have the slightest inclination to use masculine or feminine pronouns, so I use they/them.
But when I think of and communicate with my other guide, the galactic dragon, I have a feeling of the masculine, even though I know that the dragon has no gender. When I was referring to him in the post I wrote ‘he’, and then though I should change it to ‘they’, but got the feeling to stick with ‘he’.
So I did.
Even as I continued to write I wondered why I was getting a masculine feeling from my 12th dimensional guide but no gender feeling from my 11th dimensional guide.
The answer popped into my head a few minutes later in the shower, as often happens.
Both of my guides have both masculine and feminine energy, just as each one of us humans do, but neither one of them has anything that could be considered a gender. Depending on their function and intent they may be using more energies from the masculine or feminine end of the spectrum, but this would be slight and it changes fluidly.
So why am I picking up more of a masculine feeling from my genderless dragon guide but a more accurate genderless feeling from my archangel guide?
This has to do with me and my perception, of course, but also on how they are reaching me. Please click on the link I shared at the beginning of this post for a bit more on this.
My 11th dimensional archangel guide is communicating with me from the 9th dimension while my 12th dimensional dragon guide is communicating with me from the 5th. The 5th dimension is not nearly as dualistic as ours, but it is closer and has some aspects of the masculine-feminine paradigm. Since my dragon is coming through that dimension, I am picking up on energy in a form that I am used to that correspond to my familiar gender patterns. The 9th dimension does not hold any energy that, to me, fits those patterns, so I don’t have any gender association for my archangel guide.
And now I understand why my dragon insisted on me writing ‘he’. For one, he finds it amusing. But secondly, it led me to question this more strongly than I had in the past, which allowed him to offer this explanation for my realization, which I am now sharing with you in this post.
Living as a gender isn’t wrong. It’s one of many perspectives from which we can experience the Infinite.
Living as a genderless being isn’t wrong. It’s one of many perspectives from which we can experience the Infinite.
Those in our society who don’t identify as male or female have chosen the challenge, before beginning this life experience, of existing without gender in human societies that are still very much steeped in rigid gender roles, biases, stereotypes, and other limiting belief systems that are not an inherent characteristic of the idea of gender or masculine-feminine energy.
As for me and my writing, from now on I will use a more accurate ‘they’ and ‘them’ when speaking of my dragon guide to others. Even though they still feel like a ‘he’ to me.
Perhaps I’ll grow enough to one day move beyond that. 🌸
