Over the years that I have been doing distance energy work or distance Reiki, I have occasionally been asked to do sessions for someone other than the person booking.
While I always understood why the person was asking when they explained the situation, I have said no in the past, and offered to do a non-energy work option, like a free Hold With Love Meditation, instead.
It it is important to get permission for doing energy work because our energy is the basis for everything. Our energy and our fields are the basis for what thoughts occur to us, what emotions we experience, and what realizations and insights we are capable of. Our energy determines the state of our physical bodies, what situations we find ourselves in, and which versions of people we line up and interact with. Everything about our lives, our state of being, flows from our energy.
A little bit paradoxically, I will admit, while I always get permission before doing energy work, I also don’t believe it is possible to make changes in the energy of someone else without their permission or without them allowing you to. This is a Universe of free will, and we cannot reach in and make changes to others. Just as we would not want other people to be able to make alterations to our energy, for whatever reason.
That being said, for me, permission is a fundamentally important aspect of my intentions. And my intention is never to work on anyone’s energy field or make changes that they do not want, at any level.
Another good reason for people to book energy work for themselves is that when someone books a session they are not only giving permission but also setting their intentions. Energy, guidance, and information for that session will begin to gather based on their intentions for the session and life and where they are at the time, forming the structure that is needed for the session.
It is not possible, in my opinion, to do this for someone else, no matter how close we are to them. There is so much going on in the different layers of our energy layers and in our being.
