Does thinking of what I am not help me to find the elusive I Am that spirituality teachers speak of? No. Talking about all the things a cat is not does not help me to know Cat. And it certainly doesn’t help me to know one particular cat and all of its particularities. What it is not is infinite
Why is it so difficult to sense I Am? Have we built up so many layers and distractions around our true selves? Have the layers and projections been there so long that we can’t even see them anymore?
My sense of I relies on separation. What is I without separation? Can a drop of water exist in the ocean or only when it is in my hand or in the air?
Where is I? Is it in my body?
When I sit quietly and try to find I the first thing I become aware of is the layers of personality that individualize “me”
