People often get so focussed on winning that they forget why they were trying to win in the first place. They forget what their initial intent was
Is the drive to win an intrinsic to humans? Is it learned behaviour?
Winners and winning have value and losers and losing do not in this modern society
I think many on this planet don’t believe that humans have intrinsic value, and so they can’t possibly believe that they themselves have intrinsic value. Winning at something, anything, gives them a momentary window where they allow themselves to feel their value, and also have that value reflected by those around them
