2020 Week 47 Contemplation Thoughts

  • We are always submerged in our thoughts and mental patterns. Meditation gives us a chance to raise our heads above our steady stream of thoughts and see them from a different perspective
  • I realized through meditation just how much power I was giving the thoughts that crossed my mind
  • I think that one of the biggest benefits of meditations is that it is a break from focusing on the external world. We spend so much of our time externally focused
  • There are so many different forms of meditation, which is another example that there truly is no single “right way” to do anything
  • I feel like meditation at it’s core is about stripping back layers and getting down to simple truth
  • Meditation is not about doing, rather it is about allowing. Allowing your thoughts to settle. Allowing whole ideas or new understandings to surface
  • Meditation can’t be forced. You can’t will yourself to meditate
