I learned an interesting tidbit this past week. The heart will keep the most highly oxygenated blood for itself and circulate the remaining blood to the rest of the body. On the surface, this seems selfish. But if the heart isn’t receiving the best nourishment so that it can operate at its best, the entire body will suffer and possibly die. For the good of the whole, to best serve, the heart must take care of itself first
I always identified strongly with my mind. I thought I was my mind, my thoughts. But the more I meditate, the more I peer into the world, the more I move closer to the heart.
The mind can be thrown off course by limiting beliefs and thoughts that we pick up along our life journey. It doesn’t seem as if the heart can be turned from its true nature. It may be muted as we turn down different paths that won’t serve us, but it still holds true
Is heart intelligence actually more significant and impactful to our wellbeing than intellect or brain intelligence? I’m beginning to see it that way
