Exercise for being present to be done when you will be standing for a few minutes (waiting in line, standing on the bus or train, etc)
Set your feet so that you are well balanced and comfortable.
Now, become aware of your feet on the ground. If you are wearing shoes, feel the soles of your feet in contact with your foot wear and also try to extend your awareness to the ground beneath.
Let your focus stay here for a few minutes without wandering. There is nothing else to do or accomplish.
The goal of this exercise is to remain in the present moment without being distracted by future plans or thoughts of the past. Focusing on our bodies is an excellent way to anchor us in the Here and Now.
