7 Breaths ~ 7 Chakras

Visualization for tuning in to your chakras. This visualization is an extension of the 7 Breaths Exercise

Sit comfortably with your back straight. Pause on each part of your body, from your feet up to your face, and feel the muscles relax one by one.

Now visualize the vibrant red sphere of light that is your Root Chakra spinning gently at the base of your spine. Once you can see it clearly, take seven deep, steady breaths, all the while picturing your Root Chakra with your mind’s eye. After you count seven breaths, hold the image of your Chakra a few more moments and then relax your focus.

Next, visualize the warm orange orb of light that is your Sacral Chakra spinning gently near the level of your naval. Once you can see it clearly, take seven deep, steady breaths, all the while picturing your Sacral Chakra with your mind’s eye. After you count seven breaths, hold the image of your chakra a few more moments and then relax your focus.

Repeat the above steps for each of the remaining five chakras:

• the bright yellow sphere of light that is your Solar Plexus Chakra just below your rib cage

• the brilliant green light of your Heart Chakra in the centre of your chest

• the clear blue orb that is your Throat Chakra at the base of your neck

• the rich violet sphere of light that is your Third Eye Chakra at the level of your eyebrows

• and the white orb of light that is your Crown Chakra at the top of your head

Once you have gone through all seven of the main chakras individually, finish by visualizing your Root, Heart and Crown Chakras all at once and counting 7 breaths once more.

Sit quietly for a little while, and then open your eyes.
